The new generation of Griswolds is on road to Walley World and hitting more than a few bumps along the way in "Vacation."
This summer, take a road trip with Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann and more.
The release date for Vacation has once again been moved up, this time by just two days, as The Interrobang reports:
A new generation of Griswolds is heading out on the road in the Warner Bros reboot of the “Vacation” comedy franchise. And the film will be starting its Summer run two days earlier. The studio announced that “Vacation” will open nationwide on Wednesday, July 29th instead of waiting until that Friday. This gives the comedy a two day head start over Tom Cruise’s “Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation”.
The decision to move up the “Vacation” remake starring Ed Helms as a grown up Rusty Griswold taking his own family across the country, is because of the positive reviews it got during a partial screening at CinemaCon. According to Deadline, “exhibitors and members of the media were holding their stomachs laughing at the Vacation footage Warner Bros teased”.
The movie co-stars Christina Applegate, Leslie Mann, Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, Tim Heidecker and Nick Kroll with appearances from Beverly D’Angelo and Chevy Chase as Ellen and Clark Griswold from the original film.
“Vacation” now opens nationwide Wednesday, July 29th.

Earlier this year it looked like Vacation would be released this fall - now Warner Bros. has moved the release up to July 31st, 2015, as The Hollywood Reporter reports:
In a big show of confidence, Warner Bros. is moving New Line's Vacation into summer.
The reboot of the iconic 1980s comedy franchise will hit theaters July 31, hoping to serve as counterprogramming to Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation. Vacation, directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, was originally set to open Oct. 9.
Vacation stars Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann, Ed Helms, Christina Applegate and Charlie Day, with original castmembers Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo making cameos.
The movie is a sequel of sorts to National Lampoon's Vacation, directed by Harold Ramis from a script by John Hughes, and picks up as Rusty Griswold (Helms), now grown, takes his own family on a vacation. Applegate plays Griswold's wife, while Mann will portray Audrey Griswold, Rusty's sister. Hemsworth will play Audrey's husband, an up-and-coming anchorman named Stone Crandall.
Liz plays a character named Heather in the upcoming movie. Are you excited to see her on the big screen?
