It’s that time of the year again: Come and join Elizabeth-Gillies.net in our annual Christmas Project!
Since Christmas is the time for giving, we want to use it to give back to the person who entertains and inspires us all year: Liz Gillies. In other words, this is your chance to show her how much you love and support her by joining dozens of fans in this project that will be passed to Liz on Christmas.
All you have to do is send us a picture with your Christmas wishes for Liz. This could be anything; a photo of you holding a sign, a drawing, a painting, an edit - just be creative! Please make sure that the picture is not bigger than 500x500px, otherwise it will be scaled down to the right dimensions (your picture can be smaller, though). Also keep in mind that this is no place for self-promotion, but to make Liz a special gift, so please don’t include any external links or follow requests. However, you are more than welcome to include your Twitter name.
Send your picture to firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than December 15th, and if you stuck to the rules, it will be included in the Christmas Project!
Have fun and we are looking forward to your submissions!
J-14 magazine caught up with Liz this morning to talk about the end of Victorious and her music. You can read the interview below:
J-14: The final episodes of 'Victorious' are set to air early next year. How do you feel about the end of the era?
Liz Gillies: I'm very sad. It's more upsetting that I'm not going to see everyone because we were such good friends, but it's also sad that we won't get to play those characters anymore. Though who knows what the future has in store! I'm really close with everyone, but I think Ariana [Grande] and I have the longest standing friendship - but I have a very special relationship with the entire cast!
J-14: When you left the 'Victorious' set for the final time, did you take anything with you?
Liz Gillies: A lot of clothes! They were very important to me. I took Jade's most iconic, little things. I took my spiky boots, and I took my cuff that says Jaded that I had during the pilot. I'm glad they let me take that.
J-14: Tell us about the new 'Victorious' soundtrack that just came out!
Liz Gillies: The new soundtrack just came out and it's great! There's a song on it that I wrote in an episode that hasn't aired yet - Tori Fixes Beck and Jade - and it's a song I wrote three or four years ago when we had just wrapped the first season of 'Victorious.' I wrote it for Jade in her perspective and had a whole story in my mind for it. I sent it to Dan and was like, "Oh, here's a little song I wrote. Let me know what you think." He's like, "I really like it." Then he surprised me this year in season four and said that they would be using it in the show! The fans are going to die because they were so upset when we broke up, so they're going to love it.
J-14: So what's up next for you?
Liz Gillies: I have a couple things in development that I've been working on. I've been writing music and working on my album.
J-14: Tell us more about your album. What kind of music can we expect from it?
Liz Gillies: I'm kind of just playing around and trying to find my own sound. I know what I like and so that's been helpful, but I've been writing a lot and with different writers and just exploring the different elements of my voice and incorporating different styles of music. Right now it's leaning towards a singer/songwriter kind of alternative rock type of thing.
Elizabeth Gillies will kick off the 2012 Children's Medical Center Holiday Parade in downtown Dallas. The 25th annual holiday parade is set for Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10 a.m.
The talented singer and actress stars as "Jade" on the new Nickelodeon show Victorious. Jade is a gifted diva who rules Hollywood Arts High School and feels threatened by any competition -- especially from the show's star "Tori" (Victoria Justice).
The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 1 with a new parade route. The 2012 parade boasts a new route starting at City Hall and ending just past The Adolphus Hotel. For more information about the parade, including ticket information for bleacher seating, visit Children’s Holiday Parade.
The event is free and open to the public. A limited number of bleacher seat tickets are available. The bleachers are positioned along Commerce Street and City Hall Plaza starting at $25. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the medical center. Purchase tickets at online. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Children's Medical Center.
For those not purchasing reserved tickets, sidewalk seating is available along the parade route, and officials recommend arriving before 7 a.m. to secure a good spot. An estimated 350,000 attend the annual event. Take DART to get downtown if at all possible.
